Boston Red Sox vs. Cincinnati Reds: Home Opener

MLB Opening Day brings baseball back to Fenway Park on April 1, 2027, as the Boston Red Sox host the Cincinnati Reds for a home opener. The event is listed among the season's games at the historic Boston ballpark, with the Seattle Mariners also appearing in the supplied lineup information. Prices currently start around $120; availability and final prices may vary by seat and demand.

The Red Sox have called Fenway Park home since 1912, making this a fitting setting for the first home date of the season. Fenway's intimate scale and distinctive, asymmetrical field give the ballpark a character unlike that of a modern stadium. For Boston fans, Opening Day is a chance to welcome the team back and take in the familiar sights of the ballpark as the season gets underway. The event is listed on worcestertickets.org under Sports and Baseball for Fenway Park in Boston.

Venue and Seating Information

Fenway Park has an approximate baseball capacity of 37,755. Seating ranges from close-to-the-field Field Box seats to elevated Loge Box and Grandstand areas, with views shaped by the park's historic layout. Field Box sections along the baselines—particularly sections 16–35—are noted for strong infield views. The iconic Green Monster seats offer a distinctive perspective from above left field.

When choosing seats, check the view details carefully: some Grandstand seats may have obstructed sightlines from support posts, and seats in the extreme corners of sections 42–60 may provide less favorable views. Fenway is in Boston's Kenmore Square neighborhood, where the surrounding streets and nearby gathering spots contribute to the game-day atmosphere.

Parking Information

Parking around Fenway is limited, and nearby streets can be restricted on game days. The MBTA Green Line to Kenmore Station is a practical alternative to driving, with the ballpark a short walk away. If arriving by car, advance planning is recommended:

• Fenway Park Official Garage: 49 Lansdowne St, Boston, MA 02215. Listed pricing is approximately $40–$60+, and spaces are limited. Check official garage information.
• Nearby reserved lots: Area parking options are listed at approximately $30–$55, with availability varying by event. View nearby parking options.

Street parking is especially difficult on game days, so visitors may prefer transit or a pre-booked lot. Rideshare services are another option, though pickup and drop-off traffic can be congested around the park.
